“One of the most gifted authors of our day is Joshua A. McClure, who is also a respected pastor, educator, and theologian. He has written an excellent Christian “Learning Library” of ten volumes that have received widespread acclaim and numerous awards because of his dedication to the Christian faith and his desire to help others.
Joshua McClure, who has an insatiable appetite for learning, has been honored for his stellar academic performance. He received the Biblical Studies award from Barrington College in Barrington, Rhode Island, which was just the start of a brilliant career. He studied at The Andover Newton Theological School, in Newton Centre, MA. all the while serving 27 years as the revered pastor of the Pleasant Street Baptist Church in Westerly, Rhode Island, He later earned a Certificate of Advanced Theological Studies from Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Centre, Massachusetts. Because of his dedication to promoting spiritual growth on a global scale, Joshua was honored with two doctoral degrees in 2015 from The Evangelical Theological College of Africa in Ibadan, Nigeria.
The Rhode Island State Council of Churches recognizing his lifetime of service to the Christian community awarded him the inaugural Heroes of Faith Life Achievement Award in 2010, and in 2019 the town of Westerly, RI celebrating the 350th Anniversary of its founding, cited The Rev. Joshua A. McClure as a “Living Legend well deserving of such honor.
